Our Planet, Our Island, Our Responsibility

Our goal is to build a sustainable and inclusive culture, fully integrated with the local community.

At Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay we don’t take for granted the privilege of calling this beautiful island our home. Some of our staff are blessed to be born and bred here, and those who aren’t, feel extra grateful to be here. This bonds us in our ambition to do, keep doing, and strive to do better.

Our goal is to build a sustainable and inclusive culture, fully integrated with the local community. This collaborative partnership generates what we hope are fulfilling jobs where people feel appreciated, can grow and feel part of something bigger and also helps improve diversity, reduce inequality with a healthier work (and play) environment.
It’s 2022 so please assume that many things we take as a given; locally sourced produce, no single use plastics, adhering to the new Balearic Islands regulations that require hospitality businesses to take ‘pioneering’ measures in environmental sustainability and labor rights – that’s the law, of course were all doing that.

What we are keen to let you know is that we always try and go that little bit extra. From simple things like using citronella plants instead of chemical insect repellants and energy efficiency lighting systems that turn off automatically, to our options for towel and bed linen laundry and securing our Plastic Free Balearics GUARDIAN certification. Please also be assured that all our partners and suppliers are handpicked based on their values and sustainability credentials and are as firmly committed to improving the ecological and carbon footprint as we are.

Of course, all the small steps and best will in the world will only get us so far. We are a business at the end of the day so understand that sometimes only money talks. So, if you were willing us to say something along those lines, please be assured that 1 euro from each room and Nobu Restaurant bill goes to Ibiza Preservation.

Ibiza Preservation is an incredible foundation that works tirelessly to preserve Ibiza and Formentera’s land and sea with key projects such The Sustainability Observatory, Ibiza Produce, Plastic Free Ibiza & Formentera and Posidonia Protection. The turquoise waters of the Mediterranean being the jewel in our crown, this last one is very close to our hearts. The Posidonia Oceanica, often referred to as the lungs of the Med is not only crucial to our marine ecosystem but also a highly effective carbon sink. And we want to keep it that way. For us and for all those yet to discover the turquoise marvel that is the Balearic Mediterranean.
